We’ve recently received some questions about dates for two big upcoming events in 2010 – Disney Summer Pin Festival and Disney Pin Celebration. We announced these events during Disney Pin Celebration 2009. For a quick refresher, see the logos below.

We learned that the dates for these two big events will be announced on October 1, 2009 as part of the kick off to the 10th Anniversary of Disney Pin Trading. So we invite you to keep watching DisneyPins.com (especially on October 1).

Meanwhile, we were able to obtain two sneak previews of artwork from these events.

First, it’s a pin from Trade City, U.S.A.. But this is no ordinary pin. It will be included with a special ear hat (yes, an actual ear hat that you can wear) that will be sold for the event. The earhat will be similar an earhat created for the recent Haunted Mansion® by SHAG event that was held in August at Disneyland® Resort. In other words, it will look AWESOME!!!

Some of you may recall that Trade City has several famous sites including the world’s longest lanyard and the world’s largest ear hat. The “Mayor Hat” design was inspired by the hat Mickey is wearing in the logo above.

Be on the lookout of the small road sign image that appears on the sneak preview above. A similar image will be placed at several locations throughout DisneyPins.com. When you click on that icon, it will give you a behind the scenes look at something from this upcoming event. Don’t start searching right now; we’ll let you know when it’s time to look.

The other image is from Dateline Disneyland: 1955. It features artwork for a jumbo-sized pin being created for the event next summer. See the stylized castle in the corner? You may have seen that castle before on the image we posted on July 17, 2009. Similar to the road signs for Disney Pin Celebration 2010, look for that castle on DisneyPins.com (coming soon) to unlock behind-the-scenes previews.
